Howie has Leukaemia

On June 2nd 2017 our world was changed forever. Howie, our wonderful 5 year old son was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL). What we thought was end of term exhaustion at school was something far more serious, something we often find incomprehensible.

Howie spent the next two weeks at Great Ormond Street Hospital in the care of the most amazing team of Nurses and Doctors. He is at the beginning of a 3 year treatment plan on Regimen C. Howie will experience things he never should. He will become weak and vulnerable, angry and confused. Already it feels like too many procedures, too much medicine and too much pain. We continually ask ourselves Why why why? Why Howie? Why Us? There are no answers.

We have many challenges ahead of us. But with the support of our family, our friends, and the amazing team at Great Ormond Street and North Middlesex Hospital we will fight Leukaemia. Howie is our leading light and will grow stronger.

To help Howie and children that are affected by Leukaemia we want to give something back, to support those that are supporting us. Throughout Howie's treatment we will be raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital. So that research can continue, expertise and medicine can advance, and children like Howie can be given the best opportunity to be cured.
